The belly almost touches the ground.
A dachshund walks closer to frost, snow and wet leaves than almost any other dog. Every step through wet grass is felt right on the belly. Vera is lined, so the warmth stays in – even when the grass is white with frost and you take the long walk anyway.

Too many coats stop halfway down the back and leave half the dog out in the cold. Vera is chosen by back length – not weight – and comes from 25 to 50 cm. So the coat covers everything from the neck to the base of the tail. The whole dachshund. Just as it should be.

Why Vera?
I'm Noa, and I designed Vera for exactly those mornings. We always start with the dog: how it moves, where a coat can rub, and what makes it freeze at the door. For a dachshund, that means a long body, short legs and a belly close to the cold, wet ground.

The harness is built in – and stays where it should.
The harness is sewn in underneath the coat, so it doesn't slide from side to side. That keeps the long body calm and steady, and the pull goes across the chest instead of the neck. No extra harness underneath, no straps that twist. Just one coat that stays in place.

No more going in head first.
Many dachshunds hate having something pulled over their head. Vera has a zip along the whole back and a quick-release buckle, so you lay the coat on instead of wrestling it over the head.
Best fitting coat so far and our Ivy is glad about not going in head first! Perfect hold, harness is not too tight. No more shivering.

Our winters are wetter than they are white.
Sleet, rain and slush. Vera has a water-repellent surface, so the wet days run off, and you can stay out a little longer. Herringbone Mocca has no water-repellent surface – it is made for the dry, cold days.

Always choose by back length – from where the collar sits to the base of the tail. Dachshunds have a deep chest and a long back, so weight and breed say less than the measuring tape. If the back length fits but the chest isn't perfect, go by back length; the coat is adjustable.

Which size should my dachshund wear?
Measure the back from where the collar sits to the base of the tail, and choose by back length. Dachshunds vary a lot, so use the size finder above as a guide. Your first exchange is free.
Does my dachshund need an extra harness?
No. Vera has a fully adjustable harness sewn in underneath, so you clip the lead straight onto the coat.
Does Vera work for male dogs?
Yes. Vera is designed so male dogs can pee without any problems, and the leg straps at the back can be removed.
Can the coat be washed?
Yes. Vera can be machine washed at 30°C.
Can my dachshund wear the coat all day?
The coat is for the walk. Take it off when you get home so your dog doesn't get too warm, and let a wet coat dry before the next walk.
